After negotiating with the builder for weeks regarding repairs, the home buyer heard about Darcy Spears and faxed her story to the reporter. The station informed the builder there was interest in running the story. At that time, there was visible contamination on the floor and sheetrock. The contamination was several feet out from the toilet and several feet high on the bathroom wall. There were other problems with the home, as well. A meeting was scheduled for Darcy Spears, the buyer, and the builder to meet at the new home. Unfortunately, Former President Ronald Reagan died and on the Friday of the meeting, Darcy was covering the funeral. However, the phone calls and the media's interest in the house were enough to get the builder to make repairs. Below is a copy of repairs that the builder agreed to make as a result of that meeting. The story was never put on TV and Darcy Spears was not at this meeting. Several concerned people attended this meeting and helped the buyer negotiate these repairs with the builder.
